Formed at the Southern tip of Africa, 7th Son gained fast popularity, and it wasn't long
after the release of their first entirely self-produced album, "Fire in the Rain" that the band
began touring extensively. Distributed and play-listed nationwide - 7th Son's second release
- "These Days" was a five-track project that continued fuelling fans into a frenzy, and
captured the bands unique style beautifully. 2009 Brought with it the release of the bands
second full length album, an 11 track CD entitled "Ontology". Released under Musketeer
Records, this highly anticipated album was launched 11th June 2009 and since has received
extensive airtime across a number of National as well as European radio stations with their
singles "Boys Light Up", "On my Holiday" and "Tokyo".
The band began the year 2010 with the release of the "On my Holiday" music video and
a national tour, before jetting off to Europe, playing shows across Germany on the "Step
Outside Tour". After being extremely well received, 7th Son returned to headline various
national festivals and record the music video for "Tokyo" which is due for release at the
end of January 2011. The band are scheduled to be back in the studio in February 2011 to
record the new album due out 1 May 2011, before heading back to Europe in August to tour
Germany, Holland, France and England.
7th Son have played numerous Festivals. Headlining at Splashy Fen, J-Bay Billabong Pro,
Oppikoppi, Flux Festival, Up The Creek, Insanity festival, Synergy, Rocking the Daisies, Obs
Fest, Long Street Festival, Stellies Rag Fest, Sowing the Seeds, Uprising Festival, Vortex,
Ramfest, Rock the River and many more.
To date, the band has been seen or heard on/in: MTV Australia, 5fm, SABC, MNET Super
Sport, MK studio 1,East coast radio, ETV, FHM, SL magazine, Blunt magazine, Salt Water
girl, BPM, LMG, RSG, Good Hope fm, Tuks fm, UCT radio, MFM, Bush Radio, KFM,
Levi's Magazine, Stage magazine, Zig-Zag, as well as publications in local newspapers
around the country. Over the last few years 7th Son has acquired various sponsors, which
currently include, Von Zipper sunglasses and Metal Machine Tattoo and body piercing.
