Hey, I've been way too busy to be doing much of the myspace thing for a while and heading into second semester of uni, it doesn't look like that's going to change. So, if you need to contact me and usually do so through here please re direct all correspondence to alexcaffrey@gmail.com cool? I'm also doing all the little behind the scenes stuff at the moment for a new EP so eventually once that's sorted, I'll post up a few previews for your ears. Much love x

Now in the third person

Alexander Caffrey born 1983 in Palm Springs California migrated to Brisbane Australia with his parents in 1990. Upon his 9th Birthday he was given his first guitar and within 2 months found it made a wonderful doorstop (Many Guitarists cherish their first Guitar, Caffrey decided to modify it by sanding a new hole in it when he was 13, promptly requiring a visit with his Dad to a Guitar shop to buy his first Electric Guitar). Cheeky.

At 15 and with the new ability to create disgustingly loud "music" Caffrey formed his first band 'Receptor' with some School friends, the group mainly played covers of Nirvana, Jebidiah, and Green Day songs, not outstandingly but they did do it with passion if nothing else (They were close to god awful truth be told). About 10 months later Caffrey was dead pleased with a new group he was part of forming, with Singer Songwriter Will Harrison now at the helm, Caffrey and Co. formed (the "woulda coulda shoulda") group Polyvinyl. The band lasted 8 years before succumbing to the fate of many a band before them - PURE EVIL, and generally feeling jaded, PURE EVIL being the main factor still.

After 3 years of hibernation, Caffrey began writing music by himself for the first time, making copious amounts of home demo's, and eventually teaching himself to sing somewhat in key. By the tail end of 2007 with Eleanor Dunn on Drums and Grant Davis on Bass, Caffrey had formed Art Of The State. They played their first gig after a month together and managed to whip up a fair following during the year they were together, unfortunately the wheels fell off shortly after a tour to Sydney and citing some pretty obvious creative differences the group pulled the plug in November 2008.

Since his first gig in Brisbanes renowned Fortitude Valley in 1998 Caffrey has had the good fortune to play beside some amazing bands, and work creatively with some outstanding producers. He's currently working on what will be his first solo release, possible a split E.P/Album. A name change to something trendy, is always possible.

So there you have it, one extremely poor example of a Bio, feel free to copy, paste and replace your name for mine to use as your own. Now lastly and at the risk of sounding overtly neurotic - Musically I am all over the place, you'll find me doing some Alt Country one week, and Lo-Fi hip hop the next, when I get lucky a remix (like the remix of SubAudible Hums Sugarcoat currently up). It's not a Band Page, it's my personal happy place.

Happy place.
