In a hip hop genre flooded with artists looking to write million dollar hits about "drinkin' in the club", Parallels keeps it honest, borrowing inspiration from their everyday lives to write meaningful songs that REAL people can relate too. Fresh off the release of their debut album "The Silver Lining EP", the group has taken the show on the road in many forms, performing not only in song and show format, but entrancing crowds with both their freestyle ability, spoken word performances, and street corner jam sessions; abilities that have made them one of the most talked about hip hop outfits in the midwest.

Individually, each member of Parallels has earned his respective right in the spectrums of music, literary arts and hip hop; yet have somehow managed to tie them all together.

Nicholas Grooms is a respected poet and spoken word performer with a heavy musical background. He founded his own productions in early 2005 called Badguywrestler Records; which over the years has spawned cd compilations, a saturday night radio show and hundreds of midwest shows and concerts of various genres. In addition Grooms is a published writer, seeing his first work published on a national scale at the young age of 15. He is widely touted for his wordy verses, poetic dynamic and his plethra of pop culture references, which often balance his songs out, making them both emotional and comedic at the same time.

Leevi Nesbitt is a seasoned musician turned production engineer who never knew hip hop was in the cards. After projects ranging from metal to acoustica didnt fulfill his urges to write differently, Nesbitt turned to learning the fine arts of studio production and recording. In the summer of 2008 he was enlisted to by Grooms to assist with his hip hop project which he ended up joining upon arrival. Thus, Parallels was formed. Nesbitt gave the songs memorable hooks, and made small alterations that made the emotional realms of the songs take shape.

Chad Weston is a 10 year veteran of the hip hop scene. Armed with one of the most natural flows around, this verbal gunslingler has gone from battle rapping during his high school lunch hour, to stages all across the country. Wit, wisdom and wordplay best describe the man most other emcee's call "Praktis". Before joining the parallels stable, Weston earned his moniker as the "busiest mc in the midwest", self recording and releasing 3 full length LP's in under a years time.

Josh Knight is not an MC or a Rapper. He drives the vehicle and makes sure we dont die on the road. Sometimes he does some stuff on the records. Knight has probably seen more movies than anyone in the group and has a deep disdain for the christian metal band The Devil Wears Prada. Knight co-hosts the saturday night radio show Badguywrestler Radio, along with his bandmate Nicholas Grooms. Knight has a keen sense of booking, promotion and most importantly, direction. This has kept Parallels from conforming and purchasing a GPS device. Knights best quality is he constantly has music weve never heard to listen to. Hes also an EMT, so as long as were the ones getting hurt, hes there to make sure we will live.i really mean it when i said he makes sure we dont die.
