Thaxton, is a hard hitting alternative rock band from Dallas, Texas with a sound similar to 3 Doors Down blended with the punk flavor of Green Day and the lighter touch of Collective Soul. The band formed in 2006 and made it to the city finals of Bodog Music’s National Battle of the Bands in both 2006 and 2007.

Fronted by lead singer and guitarist Jeff Thaxton, the band is comprised of Rick Wayne on bass, Jordan Brown on drums. Thaxton hit the studio late in 2008 with producer Bart Rose at Fort Worth Sound to record their new songs which have an energetic feel while uniquely blending hard rock, hook oriented melodies and a radio friendly sound with crossover appeal. They plan to combine the 5 new recordings with the 6 songs recorded with Grammy winning engineer Tim Kimsey. This will give them the complete CD that has been requested by two different distribution companies.

Jeff, who was friends with the late great Dimebag Darrell, placed second to the Pantera guitarist in the Texas Hottest Guitarist competition, a year before he took first place honors. Darrell acted as a mentor of sorts, and Jeff's guitar playing is reminiscent of Dimebag's but with a style all his own. Rick played bass with the punk band “Filthy Skanks” and adds the punk influence. Jordan is one of the few drummers is Dallas that is also an accomplished guitarist and combined with Rick provides spot on vocal harmonies.

Thaxton has received airplay on 102.1 FM The Edge and 89.7 Power FM in Dallas, many college and internet stations and they’ve received requests for CD’s from radio stations as far away as Greece and Italy. Thaxton's music is available through myspace.com/thaxtonmusic, Itunes, AmazonMP3, Rhapsody.com, Napster and more.
