That Which Grows Within

We are a married Death Metal/Horrorcore/Rap duo from Parker, Colorado. Our names are ThE sHaDgRoW & tHE nADO. Our music is very unique! It is a mix of metal, death metal, horrorcore, rap, and more! We sing, rap, growl, and scream to rap and metal beats. THAT WHICH GROWS WITHIN came into being partly because back in high school The sHaDgRoW sang for a band for a short time and didn't like having to depend on a bunch of other people to make music. It was just too difficult to get all the members together at the same time and keep them all focused on the music. In 1997 the two of us decided to start making music together, without having to depend on anyone else. We bought some mics, a guitar for ThE sHaDgRoW, a bass for tHE nADO, a DR-5 drum machine, and a PA. T.W.G.W. was born!!! Over the next 9 years we wrote 25+ songs, all of which were different styles. We never did a whole lot with them, just recorded them for the fun of it, made videos, jammed for family and friends and played some parties. During that time sHaDgROW made most of the beats for us on the DR-5, but we were never very happy with them. In late 2006 we created the THAT WHICH GROWS WITHIN myspace music site with a few of our old songs just for fun, we didn't have any intentions of doing much with it. We also started going to a lot of local horrorcore and metal shows and meeting a lot of local musicians, two of which changed our lives: SCUM [LSP] and FIASCO ANDRETTI [LSP PRODUCER]. Shortly after we met them the two of us thought it would be fun to try mixing death metal and horrorcore, so we put our instruments away and began using FIASCO ANDRETTI beats. We had a lot of fun combining the two styles and put up self-recorded basement tracks on our myspace page. We received a lot of positive feedback on our music and before we knew it we were performing on LSP shows. SCUM, FIASCO, TROLL, & MORBYD have done all the recording and mixing for our upcoming debut album sEED. V from XPLICIT RECORDS has done all the mastering. In late 2010 J.J. from the Denver, CO. metal band Fault Line started playing guitar during our sets. Our friend and fellow artist MORBYD began hyping our sets shortly after.
