DESCRIPTION:
I love this song for quite a few reasons. For me it's one of Burt Bacharach and Hal David's best songs they wrote together. It's so simple, and, yet, it says so much. But another reason is the fact that I can actually somewhat play it on the piano, haha.

There are many versions of this song that I've heard throughout the years. I thought I'd take a couple of them and kind of add certain elements of my own to the mix and see how it came out.

On the Bacharach instrumental version they only sing the chorus and then Burt sings some of the bridge before his singers come and finish the rest of it. So I thought I'd do the opposite and "sing" the verses and play the chorus (until the very last one). And then I thought I'd "sing" the part of the bridge that Burt sang and play the part his singers sang. Yadda, yadda, yadda : )

Anyway...I like it okay. Without using the transpose feature on my keyboard...this is the only key I know how to play it in using the piano. So the "singing" is a bit higher than usual. Basically I was going for a more tender version, haha. At least that's my excuse for sounding like I do.
