High School occupied the days, and music occupied the nights and weekends of three bored teenagers in the little town of Pearland, Texas, located about a half hour southeast of Houston. The family game room evolved into a rehearsal studio, and The Judy's were born.

Members David Bean (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Jeff Walton (bass, vocals), Dane Cessac (drums, vocals), and Sam Roush (guitar) put together original songs written about the world around them. They did so, not to become rock stars, but merely to pass the time. Little did they know that from these humble beginnings would evolve some of the finest and most fun music that Texas would ever turn out.

Mere weeks before The Judy's were to enter the recording studio for their very first real recording session, guitarist Sam Roush lost his life in an automobile accident. After taking a little time off to gather their thoughts, the band decided not to replace Sam, and The Judy's became a threesome.

"Teenage Hang Ups" was recorded and dedicated to the memory of their friend Sam. It was with 500 copies of this quaint little 45 that the Judy's began their recording careers.
