Tears and Rage

The Band Tears and Rage was born in 2002 by an idea of the guitarist Joe Santelli. The band’s goal is to play a modern rock with influences from the old seventies style of making music. The project aims to get a new sound merging together with different style of music like Blues, rock and the psychedelic typically seventies.

The band includes Joe Santelli guitar and voice, Marco Verteramo bass, Paolo Chiaia,

organ and harmonica, Stefano Amato guitar and cello, Maurizio Mirabelli drum. They have been playing rock blues for years throughout Italy achieving more then 200 concerts, National festivals and collaborations with other artists.

In 2005, the band has played with Herbie Goins (John Lee Hooker, B. B. King, Jimi Hendrix, John Mc Laughin) in the opening of the first Tropea Blues Festival. In 2006, another remarkable performance for the Tears and Rage, is the closing concert at the festival "Marco Fiume Blues Passion" with the legendary artist Louisiana Red.

In June 2007 the band published the first album of own inedits, titled “Welcome Inside” under the Label Mkrecords and recorded by Fabio Magistrali.

The record include 8 songs that fully defined with the band style of playing music. The record is an explosive psychedelic rock blends with the sadness and melancholy more typical of the Blues. The record is made of Rock' n roll songs as well as electric ballad and instrumental songs. Tears and Rage way of composing music is inspired by artist blues and rock of the sixties and seventies like Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Beatles, Doors etc.



I Tears and Rage nascono nel 2002 da un idea del chitarrista Joe Santelli di creare un progetto musicale che potesse ripercorrere in chiave moderna lo stile anni ’70 di fare musica.

Un progetto, quindi, che poggia le sue basi sull’incontro di diversi stili musicali quali il blues, il rock e la psichedelia di estrazione tipicamente “Seventies”.

Il gruppo è oggi formato da Joe Santelli chitarra e voce, Marco Verteramo basso, Paolo Chiaia vintage Keys e armonica, Stefano Amato chitarra e violoncello, Maurizio Mirabelli batteria.

Dopo anni di bluesrock in giro per l’Italia il gruppo vanta piu’ di 200 concerti, Festival nazionali e collaborazioni nel corso dei quali ha riscosso successo grazie anche alle capacità tecniche e all’energia trascinante. Da ricordare infatti sono nel 2005 la collaborazione tra i Tears and Rage e il bluesman americano Herbie Goins (John Lee Hooker, B.B. King, Jimi Hendrix, John Mc Laughin) con cui aprono il primo Tropea Blues Festival; e nel 2006 la serata finale del Marco Fiume Blues Passion dove hanno chiuso il concerto al fianco di una leggenda del blues mondiale Louisiana Red.

Esce a Giugno 2007 il primo lavoro inedito dal titolo “Welcome Inside” per l’etichetta MKrecords, registrato da Fabio Magistrali.

Otto brani che incarnano appieno lo stile della band. Nel disco forte è la presenza di un rock esplosivo che si fonde alla sofferenza e alla malinconia del blues, il tutto pervaso spesso da venature ipnotiche. Dal rock al rock ‘n roll, dalla ballata elettrica allo strumentale, il disco offre diverse chiavi di lettura, dal punto di vista più tecnico a quello più artistico e compositivo. Tutto questo crea una solida base ai testi introspettivi e sociali, in cui si sente nettamente l’influenza di artisti blues e rock anni ’60 e ’70 quali Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Beatles, Doors e altri ancora.
