ENGLISH - Formed in the summer of 96, TAVÚ took shape as a visionary in the genre of heavy music, incorporating melody, brutality, and technicality into their unique sound.
This sound has metamorphosed throughout the years, growing and maturing throughout periods of experimentation, the continuous injection of new elements and the unique perspective of each individual member. This evolution has maintained TAVÚ at the forefront of musical creativity, yet has created a trademark sound and style, characterized by tightness, texture, and subtle complexity.
The solid delivery of their songs, the refined details in their music, as well as their explosively energetic live shows have spread outside of Puerto Rico, with tours in Costa Rica and in the Dominican Republic, as well as with subterranean releases in the US, Europe, and Latin America.
As an established band with hundreds of live performances under their belts, TAVÚ has shared the stage with KORN, ANTHRAX, D.R.I., WALLS OF JERICHO, THE ABSENCE, PUYA, ANKLA, SANTUARIO, FULL BLOWN CHAOS, GOD FORBID, SANTOS INOCENTES, JOEY BELLADONNA, etc., as well as with an immense number of amazing bands from Puerto Rico's outstanding and diverse musical community. They have also participated multiple times in Las Justas, the 4th of July Festivals in Cabo Rojo, as well as a myriad of other high-profile local events. This includes taking the stage at the island's most prestigious venues, such as the Coliseo José Miguel Agrelot, Arena Pier 10, Anfiteatro Tito Puente, Hard Rock Café, La Respuesta, etc.
TAVÚ's first full length, self titled debut album won much critical acclaim at home and abroad, capturing with crystal clarity the energy and projection of the band, thanks to an outstanding production by LEO ALVAREZ (MATTADOR, SLIMY NUGGETZ, COABEY, TRIBE, TAPIZ, DE'FEKT, MESSAGE TO VENUS) and a long history of live shows. Their subsequent self-produced EP also became a fan favorite. TAVÚ has also taken part in two international tribute albums, lending their take on Red Hot Chilli Pepper's "Power of Equality", and Rage Against The Machine's "People of the Sun", taken part in multiple international compilations, as well as been featured in the soundtracks of the movies "Tainos" and "Contraseña".
TAVÚ is currently finishing up their much awaited new album and getting ready to shred stages both in Puerto Rico and abroad once again. The album will include a collaboration with ex-Tavú bassist and avant-garde musical mastermind Cesar Davila Irizarry. Keep your eyes and ears peeled!

Este sonido ha pasado por momentos de metamorfosis a través de los años, creciendo y madurando durante periodos de experimentación, la continua inyección de elementos nuevos y la perspectiva individual de cada integrante. Esta evolución ha mantenido a TAVÚ en la vanguardia de la creatividad musical, manteniendo a la ves un sonido "trademark" caracterizado por la solidez, textura y sutil complejidad.
La ejecución solida de sus canciones, los detalles refinados en su música y sus explosivamente energéticas presentaciones en vivo se han esparcido fuera de Puerto Rico con giras a Costa Rica y a República Dominicana, al igual que material circulando en los EEUU, Europa y América Latina.

El primer disco completo y homónimo de TAVÚ recibió mucho reconocimiento local e internacional, capturando con suma claridad la energía y la proyección de la banda, gracias a una producción cristalina por LEO ALVAREZ (MATTADOR, SLIMY NUGGETZ, COABEY, TRIBE, TAPIZ) y un largo historial de presentaciones en vivo. TAVÚ ha contribuido en dos tributos internacionales, interpretando "Power of Equality" de Red Hot Chilli Peppers y de "People of the Sun" de Rage Against The Machine, han participado en múltiples compilados internacionales, al igual que participaron en los soundtracks de las películas "Tainos" y "Contraseña".
