Taking Sides, hailing from south jersey, mixes intense, melodic guitars, explosive drums, thundering bass, and sharp vocals to create a sound all their own. It is these characteristics that create a mysterious, sexy sound that fascinates the French and drives the ladies wild.

Perhaps the most impressive fact about Taking Sides is their undeniable chemistry and dedication to each other and the music they make. The band began in 2002 as five guys who simply loved music, covering their favorite songs, and has evolved into the band that you know today. Although musical tastes and creative styles have matured over the years, the band has not. They remain the fun-loving kids who started a rock band nearly five years ago. Taking Sides has been able to progress amazingly, without losing the chemistry that exists between the five individuals, without ever cheapening their integrity or compromising their creativity for anyone.

Starting with their first release in the summer of 2003, Taking Sides has offered their music to the world in the form of four plastic discs: a demo in 2003, the full-length, Going Up In Flames (2004), and The Uprooted EP (2005). Their latest recordings, yet to be released outside of myspace, best represent the progress that they have made as a band and is sure to launch them into the rock stratosphere.

A rigorous tour schedule has placed them at some of the top venues in the Philadelphia/South Jersey region - from bowling alleys to baseball stadiums. Their insanely intense live show has brought them a large, and ever-growing fanbase. They have also played with some big names, including The Early November, The Dear Hunter, Hidden in Plain View, Days Like These, Days Away, and Tokyo Rose. Future plans include taking over the world.
