Taking Over Mars

The story begun in 2004 in Slovenia ( Europe ), when Josh (guitar/vocals) decided to start a punk-rock band. Next year (2005), Micho (drums) joined the band. Soon after that, they wrote a few songs, they played a couple shows in their home town and the towns near by. But unfortunally there was a lot of members in the band during the past 5 years that did not have the same passion for the music as Josh and Micho so they were replaced. The bands music was influenced by lots of bands like The Offspring, Nofx, Millencollin and other kinds and genres of music cause they were all growing up in the skateboarding communitys, so that was the most important thing that created their punk/ska sound.



They recorded their first demo album, selftittled (Taking Over Mars). In 2007, they had a one-month tour (around 20 shows) across Europe. They played in Slovakia, Czech Republic, United Kingdom, Germany, Italy,

After the European tour, Alex (bass/vocals) joined the band . For a few months they were separeted from the concert stages, because they were working on some new material but in the summer of 2008, the band had another month and a half long tour around Europe. They opened on a few big festivals for some quite famous bands like The Misfits and Slayer. The band was recognized for their energetic shows and a melodic sound that can move even the toughest crowd.



In the summer of 2009 they went to the studios to record their first full length album called : They never saw it coming. In February 2010 they finally added the fourth and final member Jake( guitar/trumpet/vocals ). He brought a new sound in the band by adding a trumpet as an extra instrument and the line up was finally complete after a few years of searching for the standard fourth member. The album will be released in 2010 with a music video for their new single '' The Beer Song '' and after the release the guys are getting ready to tour across Europe and United states of America so the story of Taking Over Mars is just beginning.
