TADA

Wassup - thanks for the support and luv! I'm a young woman who's following her dream to impact the global music industry as an artist, songwriter and pioneer for the undiscovered mainstream talents of other Bahamian artists, songwriters, and producers.

I AM BAHAMIAN

.Born and raised. I love being from the Bahamas. It makes my work unique - right out the gate - cuz I don't do traditional Bahamian music, but I'm 100% Bahamian still. There's a debate in my country about what a Bahamian artist is - I feel the whole discussion is irrelevant.

THE BEGINNING

I grew up hearing, and appreciating music. My Dad lead songs in church and played the guitar, and I went on to sing in school, church choirs and even was a part of a few groups. In 1998, I decided to be a solo performer, and released my first album (Sanctigroove) in 2000. That same year, a hip-hop song from that album called "How Can You Be Serious" won the Grand prize in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. Wow - was that kool or what! I was offered an EMI Publishing deal for the song, and appeared in the Source magazine. Later that year, I won my second and third Caribbean Music Marlin award for Song and Best New Artist of the Year. Since then, my songs have played on every radio station in the Bahamas.

HIGHLIGHTS

Studying Recording Arts Management in Toronto, Canada at The Harris Institute for the Arts in 2001 was a great experience for me. After which I interned in the A&R Dept. of Clive Davis' J Records in NYC. Much Music and Videofact awarded me 2 music video grants in 2002 and 2003 - and since videos have aired nationally on Much Music in Canada, and throughout the Caribbean on TEMPO. I have had the chance to perform on the same stage as artists like Carl Thomas, BeBe Winans and Bow Wow, and have done shows in Canada and the Caribbean.

NOW

The end of last year I decide to do music full time. My most recent release (F5) unveiled a different side of TaDa. I've been working with alot of talented Bahamian and some international producers, and am for the first time really expanding to see whats out there and what I can offer this industry at large. Traveling to the U.S. and Europe over the next while, I hope to be able to create exceptional work and gain invaluable experience that will allow my dreams to be realized.

WHY I DO IT

- for the love.

- for my country.

- cuz I was born to.

STAY TUNED.
