Tab-One is from Burlington, NC. His musical influence started with his parents who turned him onto such classic artists as Harry Chapin, Al Green, Marvin Gaye, and Van Morrison to name a few. Tab was introduced to hip-hop around the age of 10. He became heavily influenced by the style of groups like Digible Planets, A Tribe Called Quest, and The Pharcyde. His interest only grew as he ventured through high school. By his senior year (2000) he began freestyling and writing his own rhymes. He left Burlington in the fall of 2000 to attend college at NC State University in Raleigh, NC. In Raleigh, he met Adam Smith (A-Did), Michael Bender, and Alex Thompson (Charlie Smarts). Shortly thereafter, they formed a group known as Inflowential. In 2004, Tab, along with Charlie Smarts, started NC State's first Hip Hop Organization known as H2O. Today, Tab still rocks the mic as a member of Inflowential and as a representative of H2O and the GVC (Good Vibes Crew).
