Swinger Eight is a psychedelic experimental rock band from Brooklyn, New York. S8 consists of founding members Chris Miskiewicz on guitar and lead vocals, Christopher Medrano on bass and lead vocals, and Ozzie Martinez on drums. Past members have included Patrick Murdoch of “Big Linda” and Chris Fort, both on Lead Guitar.
S8 began during a series of 4-track basement recordings between college friends, Miskiewicz and Medrano, in the winter of 2001, and then jelled into the band after a chance meeting between drummer Martinez and Miskiewicz’s two dogs. The animal’s friendship began, and with that, Swinger Eight was born.
S8 has released three albums to date.
“The Swinger Eight EP” (2002) from which the track “On and On” appeared in the 2003 Sundance Award Winning Film “What Alice Found.”
“A Division” (2003) a 15 song acoustic record, inspired by the band’s original basement recordings. It features guest artists Christopher Schmelke, and Emily Grace.
And “2:22 AM” (Nov 2007) 2:22 AM is a severe psychedelic soundscape, featuring the tracks “Things We Said/Just The Sounds” and the 22 minute opus title track, “2:22 AM.” 2:22 AM was produced and engineered by Jason Spittle at Hardluck Recording Studios.
