DORIT WONDER WOMAN

Dorit is a Singer/songwriter multi-instrumentalist and a renowned dancer with the title "Belly Dancer of the Universe!" With this dual artistic identity she recently acquired the name 'Animale Da Palcoscenico' meaning 'animal of the stage' while on tour in Italy.



Her MUSIC is a melting pot of NYC Rock/Funk with many songs heavily influenced by the rhythms and melodies of the Middle East and North Africa.

With the start of the new year 2009 she released her first music video embodying her superhero obsession with reality and humor.

Aside from her solo project Dorit is the lead singer of a brand new heavy rock band called A.D.D. Theater.



Dorit has had one of the most successful and highly visible dance careers and is known as the Jimi Hendrix of Ethnic dance. She is a trend setter in the art form and has performed in front of thousands on stage and on TV. Her performances have been called 'magical' 'hypnotic' 'sexy' 'musical' and 'spiritual.' Among her thousands of shows she has performed for international celebrities, royalty, and has shared the stage in performance with many incredible well known artists.



Currently Dorit is focused on her career in Music and playing gigs but can still be seen performing in artistic dance events on occasion.

She recently has appeared in The Daily News, Conde Nast, The New York Times and various other magazines and TV programs

Dorit is a great songwriter, and the hit quality of her material is brought out tonight with the addition of a rhythm section (bass and percussion). She starts off with the two songs she prefers to present at the open mikes. To these ears the music comes across like a blend of 80s songwriters: Tracy Chapman, Sting and Eddie Brikell, for starters. Dorit has played the showcase before, but it's been a while. It's good to have her back and funkin' the place up. And the belly dancing? Did I mention the belly dancing?! The woman has some hot, hot, hot moves. Why don't more musicians belly dance like that? Well…never mind.

Dorit played a great set of upbeat, funky pop songs. Her performance was filled with light and colored by soul. Largely responsible were Dorit’s clear, buoyant voice and welcoming stage presence. Dorit was joined by a percussionist playing the cajon, a very cool wooden box shaped instrument that’s half djembe, half stool (players sits as they drum). Together they created a rhythmical groove that formed a solid framework for Dorit's wide-range vocals to effortlessly carry her well-written melodies to every corner of the crowded room.
