Svenskt is a compilation of Swedish music, released via the Oxford, England

based Big Scary Monsters label on

16th October 2006. It will be available to pre-order from the middle of September and

we'll be running a few promotions and giveaways to coincide, so check back soon for more

on those.

We decided to put it together because we're yet to find a bad band from Sweden, this is

simply as many of our favourites as one CD could hold. There are many many others well

deserving of your time and ears, a list of just some of them can be found on the

left.

Above you will notice there are a few tracks from the CD available to stream. Come back

again because we'll probably chop and change them about in the run up to the release, and

just like Aerosmith, you don't want to miss a thing.

See below for the tracklisting and photos of the bands beautiful faces. Be sure to check

out each of their Myspace pages and sample their musical delights. There's something for

everyone here, ranging from the beautiful soundscapes of Jeniferever and

Ef, the wonderfully moving sounds of Last Days of April and Logh,

the delightful pop of Moonbabies and Suburban Kids With Biblical Names, the

spiky post-punk from Traktor and The Sound OE, and so much more. Seriously,

give yourself a break and listen to the sounds of Sweden.

To read more on Swedish music, I recommend the following websites: itsatrap.com and hellosurprise.com.

If, after reading and listening to this, you've caught the Scandanavian musical bug yet

you find yourself stuck in the UK, I suggest you get your dancing shoes down to Tack Tack Tack in London

and/or Sweden Made Me

in Brighton.
