Sporting a personality as vibrant as his native Virgin Islands, Benny Demus is globally known as
an entertainer extraordinaire. Acknowledged as a first-class producer, writer, DJ, and rapper,
he has stamped his own ticket to success. He has thousands of fans in over 180 countries and
also has a clear passion for using his celebrity status and resources to enrich the lives of others.
While it has been his skills as a DJ that has projected his success, thus far, it is his gift of story
telling that has allowed him to become a very skilled emcee.
Since his days in St. Thomas,
Benny Demus has been blazing the microphone, first as a group member with the group Rock
City and then as a solo emcee when he landed in New York in 1994.



Benny Demus introduced himself as an emcee to the American public on the college circuit. He
began performing at various venues while attending college in North Dakota and Wyoming. It
was then that Akon sought him out and brought him on as his DJ in 2003. Since then, Benny
Demus has had a world wind of opportunities. Not only is he the DJ for Akon, but also for Eve
and Rock City. While very appreciative of the opportunities, his career as a DJ have afforded
him, it has stalled his career as an emcee. He has respectfully held back his career as an emcee,
first, for Rock City, as a new group and then for Akon, as a new Artist.



Ready to take hold of the reigns and prove to others what he has known all along, Benny
Demus has already completed his first album (Caribbean Badman) and two mixtapes, which
include Load Up Music & Ben In Black.



With a style he describes as "Virgin Islands Hip Hop" (because he raps in his accent), he is also
"politically street", bringing a lyrical style similar to Shyne and bold political awareness similar
to Ice Cube and Dead Prez. Benny Demus' music is more than just entertainment. He brings a
social awareness to the plight of his Virgin Islands. He wants you to know that for the people
that live there, there are real events that need to be made relevant. He has vowed to give
opportunities to the youth that he could only dream of at their ages.



Benny Demus enjoys a very philanthropic side as well. He has been acknowledged by many in
his homeland for the great contributions he has made there, including personally sponsoring
the Virgin Island's Men's All Star Basketball Game and taking Akon to St. Thomas and St. Croix
to visit children in local schools and spread inspiration to those at the juvenile detention center.
He also has brought Ving Rhames to the Virgin Islands, taking him to the actual neighborhoods,
for people to meet. Keeping true to his word, he will continue to be instrumental in giving a
hand up to the next generation of aspiring stars and leaders with the founding of his non-profit
organization, Benny-D.'s Super Kidz. It is selflessness and commitment such as this that caused
him to be recognized by V.I. leadership and garnered him a personal invitation to the 2009
Virgin Islands Senate Presidential Inauguration.



Charismatic and energetic in his own performances, Benny Demus has quietly contributed
to the success of numerous other popular artists and collaborated with artists such as, Akon,
Busta Rhymes, Rock City, Verse Simmons, Tabi Bonney, Kardinal Offishall, A. Leon Craft (The
Backwoods), Ray Lavender, Savage (New Zealand), Fish Scales of Nappy Roots, Sway (U.K.),
Blu3, Navio, Atlas, RayNitti, and I.A.Y.Z., to name a few.



No stranger to international destinations, Benny-Demus has built a loyal, global following. He's
performed in countries such as Canada, Uganda, Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Brazil,
Germany, London, Scotland, Ireland, Lebanon, Jordan, Malta, Romania, Poland, Japan, China,
Switzerland, Sweden, New Zealand, Australia, Antigua, Trinidad, Barbados, Paris, Holland and
the Virgin Islands.
