Sugur Shane is a pioneering DJ, producer, and lyricist from Philadelphia, PA. Blending some of the best of Hip Hop and House music styles into his own, Sugur Shane is taking music to another level. His biggest influences came from artists he grew up listening to in the mid-90s including Mobb Deep, Notorious B.I.G., Gillette and Lil' Kim. The first song he ever wrote was a record to B.I.G.'s single "Warning”. As a rap artist, Notorious B.I.G. was the most influential artist, to inspire Sugur Shane to begin and master his craft. After Sugur Shane began listening to various styles of music, he began to find a new passion, mixing different music together. Being inspired by DJ’s such as Peter Rauhofer, DJ Paulo and Junior Vasquez, Sugur Shane himself became a DJ.
Sugur Shane began blending the rhymes he had written with house beats and came up with his own unique style. In 2005 he worked with DJ Taj from AL. and DJ Teke from Philly on his debut single, a reworking of the house classic "Drama." Titled "The Drama,". The single has gotten spins in clubs down the east coast, from NYC and Philly down to Miami. While working on his debut album and planning distribution, Sugur Shane is writing and producing for other artists. He is looking forward to performing around the world and is hoping to record with other artists, especially the ones that have influenced him the most."I would love to make an impression on all the artists that have made an impression on me."
