Jewels (aka Princess Jewels) is an up and coming U.K singer soulstress with a passion for reggae and real soul in music.

Her distinctive voice and style is what makes her uniquely special, and her songs reflect the broad range of musical styles she was brought up on.

Inspired by the sun, the sound of rolling waves, the wild beauty of the ocean and its beach, life, love and the struggle for humanity, Jewels's songs take you on a journey into the deepest depths of her heart or just to a nice place. Melting reggae with the sound of her soul and everything in between.

Jewels grew up listening to motown, soul, rock n roll and old Trojan records.

At a young age she was always tapping rhythms on tables, and desperate to play drums, she did day and night, but soon after craved song-writing and turned her attention to singing and playing guitar. By the age of 13 she was writing and recording songs in her bedroom and used it as a way to escape and express herself spiritually. As there seemed to be more male musicians than female, this became a driving force behind her ambition to nurture and fulfill her gift in the hope that one day she could inspire other women to get out there and play.

Playing in bands all through her early teens, at 16 she took a break and went to London where she was submerged into the life, culture and sounds of Brixton.

Jewels' love for dub music began around this time. It seems her path has always brought her to reggae music. She felt a sense of belonging. Since returning home "Reggae is the beat of life" "Everywhere I go I hear and feel Reggae music" After a short spell in Africa, she began singing with the sound system 'Jah Lion' in her home town of Reading when she was 19. Three years later she started a female sound system called Shee Sound playing roots and dub music promoting women in reggae.

She went on to work with the legendary Mad Professor on some fresh Sly and Robbie tracks and has joined him to perform at sell out shows in the U.K and internationally, and also with the mighty Zion Train.

As well as performing acoustically she also performs with her band 'Jewels and the Jacuzzis' who have recently supported, Dreadzone, D.J Andy Smith, D.J Derek J* & Honey Brown, Pama International, Mad Professor & Daddy G (Massive Attack) and THE WAILERS

She is currently working on bringing out an album of her own songs which will be available very soon

Her love of music is what she hopes to get across, touching others through her songs
