Biography

STUKA is a hard working, self-managed band from the main industrial center in Serbia, Pancevo. The major influences are: American garage rock, psychedelia of the late 60's and some New Wave elements, particularly the Yugoslav New Wave of the early 80's. STUKA worked as a trio until the end of 2006, when a new singer joined the band.

They organized one of the wildest live music private parties in the Belgrade's famous "Bitef Art Cafe" where they jammed with "The Dickle Brothers", a fun project of "Garbage", July 5, 2005.

The day after, both bands, Garbage and Stuka played at the biggest music festival in Former Yugoslavia, the "EXIT Festival". Stuka played on a small stage for unrenowned bands while Garbage played on the main stage (of course).

Stuka was the first Serbian band that played at the "South By Southwest" festival in Austin, Texas, USA. Spiro's Club, March 16, 2006.

After SXSW the band members spent three months in USA, mostly exploring Texas and making footage for the documentary "Lost in Austin" a story about an independent Serbian band and its adventurous travels through Texas and the SXSW 2006 festival. It shows the festival in all its splendour, their trip to NYC and the people they met on their way to the unknown.

Stuka opened for The Black Godfather of Soul, Mr. Andre Williams, in Belgrade's SKC, Sep 30, 2006.

They were the winners of the multimedia " Joy Art " Festival in Brassov, Romania, 2006.

STUKA played at the "Belgarde's Beer Fest", the biggest music festival in Serbia, August 2007.

The band had a DIY mini tour in Serbia named "Lost In Serbia 2007" throughout the year.

Another mini tour in Serbia with an Italian band "The Intellectuals" was organized in October 2007, by "Bad Music For The Bad People", Belgrade.

Stuka recorded three new songs (My Heaven, Strength, Backdoor Man) in their home studio with a new singer and a new bass player as a preparation for the new album in October 2007.

In November 2007 Stuka was invited to come to Brassov again and do a big show as the last year's winners of the Joy Art Festival.

Micro tour in Serbia with Terry Lee Burns (Tennessee), December 2007.
