The original music of Strange Montgomery is as influenced by film-makers as it is by musicians. Strongly flavored by the soulful and immense vocals of Lisa Rodgers, Strange Montgomery paint a landscape of sound that hearkens back to both the simple boogie-style rock of the 1970s from bands like Free and Humble Pie, but also takes on a sound distinctly their own…blending punky (think PJ Harvey), early prog (Pink Floyd), hardcore blues rock (think early Sabbath), and funky (think the vocal stylings of Prince) influences into a powerful sound demonstrated in their live performances and on their new EP, “Blue.” Since 2005, Strange Montgomery have played numerous venues in Rochester, including the Bug Jar, Dub Land Underground, Monty’s Krown, Montage, the Jukebox, Harmony House, Boulder Cafe, Water Street, the Black Pearl, Elixir, ArtAwake, Univ. of Rochester, and RoCo.Check out the new EP from Strange Montgomery:“Blue”Featuring 5 new songs!
