STRANA OFFICINA-BIOGRAFIA
La Strana Officina nasce a Livorno nella metà degli anni settanta grazie alla passione per la musica dei fratelli Fabio e Roberto Cappanera (chitarra e batteria) che ,assieme ad Enzo Mascolo (basso) dopo dure ore di lavoro come carpentieri,si sfogavano nella loro sala prove suonando i brani delle loro band preferite:Black Sabbath,Deep Purple,Rory Gallagher,Jimi Hendrix etc.
La band si completa con il vocalist Jhonny Salani col quale cominciano a comporre brani Hard Rock Blues in Italiano come "Viaggio in Inghilterra","Profumo di Puttana","Vai Vai","Officina","Non sei normale", "Il corvo è là" e "Sole Mare Cuore"(rimasti inediti ,ma suonati costantemente durante i loro concerti), mentre "Non c'è più Mondo" sarà invece pubblicato solo nel 1991, nell'album solista dei fratelli Cappanera al quale il brano dette anche il nome (LM Records 1991).
Nel 1982 subentrano nella band Daniele"Bud"Ancillotti (voce) e Marcello Masi (2°chit.).
La formazione così composta parteciperà all'ormai storico festival Metal di Certaldo del 1982 nel 1983 registrerà il brano "Non sei Normale" inserito nella storica compilation "Metal Eruption" pubblicata da Rockerilla e darà alla luce lo storico EP omonimo del 1984 per la Minotauro rec.
Nel 1986 dopo la dipartita di Marcello Masi la band pubblica un secondo EP "The Ritual" passando al cantato in Inglese ed ad un sound più Heavy.
Nel 1988 esce finalmente il loro primo LP "Rock'n'roll Prisoners" definitiva conferma della loro posizione come band rappresentatrice della scena Heavy Metal Italiana.
Nel 1993 dopo 10 anni di grande attività e dopo che i quattro membri stavano lavorando a nuovo materiale,i fratelli Cappanera trovano la morte in un incidente stradale interrompendo così il loro cammino musicale.
Si chiude così un capitolo per la musica metal Italiana, lasciando l'amaro in bocca a tutti coloro che ebbero la fortuna di conoscere i due fratelli, ma soprattutto di vedere la Strana Officina dal vivo.
Dopo la tragedia la band si reincarna grazie alla naturale entrata nella band di Rolando Cappanera (figlio di Roberto alla batteria) e Dario Cappanera (nipote,alla chitarra) dando il via ad un tour commemorativo fino al 1995.
2 Giugno 2006 Gods of Metal (idroscalo-Milano) Strana Officina headliner dopo 10 anni di silenzio: un'emozione unica per chi c'era, sul palco e sotto il palco.
Marzo 2007:la Strana Officina (BUD,ENZO,ROLANDO,DARIO) entra in studio per pubblicare a Giugno un album con i brani storici e due inediti.L’album si intitolerà “THE FAITH” e conterrà tutti I brani in Inglese della band più “Autostrada dei sogni” tratto dal primo E.P. e due inediti “Officina” e “Profumo di Puttana”(scritti dalla band nella metà degli ann’70).Nel 2008 esce il box "LA STORIA 1979-1989" contenente i vinili ristampati di tutta la produzione della band.Nel 2010 esce per la MY GRAVETARD PRODUCTIONS "Rising to the Call" il primo album di inediti con l'attuale formazione.

STRANA OFFICINA-BIOGRAPHY
Strana Officina was born in the middle of the seventies. Former members are the two brothers, Fabio and Roberto Cappanera (guitar, drums); with bass player Enzo Mascolo, starts to play Rory Gallagher,AC/DC,J.Hendrix and Black Sabbath songs after hard hours of ironworker.
The band with first singer Jhonny Salani wrote songs as "Viaggio in Inghilterra"(recorded on their first album in 1984), "Non sei normale", "Profumo di puttana", "Sole Mare Cuore" (not edit but constantly played in live performance) and "Non c'è più mondo" (recorded in 1991 on Cappanera brothers solo album).
In 1982 with new singer Daniele"Bud"Ancillotti and 2°guitarist Marcello Masi, STRANA OFFICINA plays at the first and legendary Italian Heavy Metal festival with Death SS and other bands in Certaldo.
1984:historical debut EP "STRANA OFFICINA" sang in italian.
1986:second EP "The Ritual" heavier than the first and sang in english.
1987:the song "Non sei normale" on "Metal Eruption" compilation.
1988:out the expected LP "Rock'n'roll Prisoners" which confirm the band as the most representative of Italian Heavy Metal scene.
1993:after 10 years of hard activity and shows around the Italy Cappanera Brothers lost their lives on a car crash, that's a huge hit on the national heavy metal scene and strana officina quit the career for this tragical loss.
1995:Two years of commemorative tour with Rolando Cappanera (son of Roberto) on drums and Dario Cappanera on guitar (Rolando blood cousin)
After 10 years of silence Strana Officina headline the Gods of Metal 2006 (one of most important metal Festival in Europe) in front of thousands people.

March 2007:Strana Officina (BUD,ENZO,ROLANDO,DARIO) start to record an album with most famous songs and two not edit song.Out in june.
The new album “THE FAITH” will contain all band’s songs in English language (12 tracks), ”Autostrada dei sogni”(from first E.P. 1984) and two not edit songs “Officina” and “Profumo di Puttana”(writed in the middle of ’70).
2008: Out in july "LA STORIA 1979-1989 a 4lp box set contein all the band production and other unrelease and rare songs.
2010: Out in March "Rising to the Call" the first album of the actually line-up contain 8 new songs and two unedit old songs.
