Stowaway Sterling started in March 2005.

Our first practice with 4 members (with a bassist) was a couple days before we first recorded a demo (June 05- which you can still find @ www.purevolume.com/stowawaysterling.)

We played our first gig at the TW Forum John Peel nite, Oct. 13th 2005. Many people said we were under rehearsed, which was true, but we were always getting better, even if we didn't quite know where we wanted to go directionly.

A reviewer told us backstage once upon a time; 'last time we slated you, but you were so much better tonight i couldn't believe it' i reckon he was probably just feelin guilty."

We had a good laugh mainly due to a lot of cool T.Wells/Tonbridge/Crowborough+Westerham kids who came down to party at our shows.

We played all over the south-east of England including; Tunbridge Wells, Portsmouth, Hastings, Gillingham and London. We supported such bands as The Kirkz, The View, Tiny Dancers, The Hint and BlackBud. On Fri 26th May we got our first radio play on BBC Radio Kent, which none of us heard, but apparently the guy called 'City Struck' ''short and sweet''.

Early 2007 the band fell apart. No finger pointing it was iminant and although for alot of us it seemed a bitter pill to swallow, there was NEVER any hard feelings or bitching!

However, we're deeply sorry for anyone we pissed off in the process; venues, fans and friends alike not forgetting each other!!

Finally most of us are now in alternative music projects. but this may not be the end fingers crossed, you never know what's round the corner!

xx

"Crowborough's Stowaway Sterling have an odd name, a bunch of strangely overenthusiastic supporters.they haven't got the city-dwelling swagger and pissy stench of tower block doorways that you'll find in the likes of The Rakes or The Others, just a smidgeonette of suburban decay and snotty groove that'll make you tap your foot" (Review; march '06 BLAM MAGAZINE)

. "they have the ability to write songs with great observational detail. Not in an Artic Monkeys way, but in a way that reflects where they come from and what THEY experience." (Review; March06 elevendaysago.com)
