The word passion could be described as the combination of undying love and unbridled fury. For Canadian metal quartet Stone Of End, they know this in no other way. But what could be said for this? perhaps the unchanging drive that sparked the band in early 2005 has something to do with it. Either that or enduring more unbelievable trials in a few short years than most bands do in a decade. Regardless, Stone Of End come together on the love of creating heavy music that distinctively and honestly portrays a picture of who they are.



Forming in 2005 and releasing a rough demo shortly there after, S.o.E sought after playing an earth shattering blend of heavy music and to have fun doing something, at the time, refreshing the local music scene. Shortly into the next year, the quintet (at the time) had constructed a 6 song E.P, "Sing The Die Song", which displayed an unsurpassed amount of give'r with a thrash aesthetic not found in many bands around the local area. Stormy sea's laid ahead as personalities clashed leading to an empty guitar slot. A spot which was extremely difficult to fill. Endless searching had laid a straining hand on the members. To further the struggle a singer slot lay bare due to a nervous break-down that left original singer Wes Thompson to the side. Steve Minor (Treachery) was gracious enough to fill both slots. This allowed the now four piece to concentrate on honing their skills live and to further evolve their sound. After many gigs and much fun, Kevin, shortly followed by Steve announced their departure. Yet even after all was said and done, original members Brad Lindsay and Lane Sabine couragously picked Stone of End's beaten body off the ground. Knowing in a town where opportunities were few and far between that it was the love of the music that mattered.



Remolding the shape of the band, with Joey Stannard (Prelude to Ruin), and Owen Matz, they will be restating themselves in 2008's "The Engine Of Indifference". Growing and evolving, the four piece have melded a blend of distinct preferences from their own personal gamut. Displaying everything from balls out thrash, smoldering sludge riffs, melodic lines, and crushing brutality all wrapped around a tricky mindset that displays offsets while sparing themselves from overplaying and overdomineering their music. With a striving ethic to bring an intense live show that could blow up in your face. These guys are still playing heavy music for the love of heavy music, and will take on what they love with workhorse strides knowing that the next levels right around the bend.



Also, Wes is back. He plays guitar now. Not vocals. Just guitar, he likes it, he thinks its nice, very pretty. he's native.
