Mr. Rep and QB are FAMILY AFFAIR. Their classic sound transcends boundaries, connects well with the club scene and on the corner. Their truthful poetry about city living has yielded more than 200,000 clicks on Facebook and continues to grab live audiences from the Midwest to the South.
Mr. Rep (born Jarrett Jones) and QB (born Jason Jones) grew up on St. Louis' north side and balance a streetwise sound with a high-energy pop sensibility. QB lends the style and Rep brings on the soulfulness, think Big Boi and Andree 3000. FAMILY AFFAIRS biggest influences are Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, NAS and Tupac, while also drawing from a wide genre of music and other forms of expression and storytelling.
In August of 2010, FAMILY AFFAIR released their first official album called "Welcome to the Underground," with the single, "Sunshine." The following summer, they released the most recent mixtape, "Before the Return," featuring the single "Our Show."
FAMILY AFFAIR has had spins in several primary Hip-Hop markets in the United States, notably Chicago, Atlanta, New York, Los Angeles — and even as far as London and Thailand.
The twins have received recognition from the St. Louis Riverfront Times by being nominated for "Best Hip Hop/Duo" in St. Louis in 2011. FAMILY AFFAIR has gained several key blog's attention, more importantly, from the SmokingSection.net, Ghettoblastic.com and Rockthedub.com.
FAMILY AFFAIR has had the honor of opening for some of hip-hop and R&B's legends, including the Isley Brothers, Rick Ross, Stalley, Big K.R.I.T., Rhymefest, Juelz Santana, Royce da 5'9", and Freddie Gibbs.
