Stevans was born in 2003 in Geneva, when Yvan Franel, songwriter, guitarist and pianist, met bassist Bruno Tancredi. Quickly, the duo released « The Reversal EP », including the single « Monday's Wedding » that would make them known on the swiss music scene. The following year, in 2004, John Chirico, drummer, percussionist, responded to an advert and joined the band. The three musicians got along very quickly thanks to their shared influences, providing them with a new energy that would seduce a wide audience.

The first album, simply called "Stevans", was produced by Bertrand Siffert, best known for his work with the Young Gods, and released during the fall of 2006. Its sound is widely inspired by English rock bands such as Franz Ferdinand or Stereophonics, as well as Oasis. An obvious affiliation due to Yvan's Anglo-Swiss culture. Three singles hit the Swiss radio stations : "Rocky Drunky Pervert", "Emotional Cash" and, most of all, "Monday's Wedding". A national success that allowed the band to export itself.

During the next couple of years, they toured around Europe performing more than 200 concerts, including shows in Zurich, Reims, Lyon, Paris, Lisbon, Porto, Manchester and London. This gave them the opportunity to play alongside with some of the greatest bands, such as The Servant, Natalie Imbruglia, Editors, The Rakes, Infadels, Kaiser Chiefs, Snow Patrol or the Rita Mitsouko. They were invited in numerous festivals, including Paléo Festival in Nyon and the NRJ Music Tour at the Geneva Arena. In 2007 they won the Talent Tour at the Montreux Jazz Festival, gaining the opportunity to perform the following year in the Auditorium Stravinsky Hall opening for Deep Purple.

In January 2010, Stevans is getting ready to show the European pop-rock universe what they're capable of with the release of "Fake". A second album with melodies that are still as effective and with lyrics that are even more on edge between emotions and second-degree humor. To produce this album and to affirm their musical identity, the band chose Will Jackson, who previously worked with Kaiser Chiefs and The Pigeon Detectives. The recording took place at the Dinemec Studio, that received the prestigious Gold Radio Sony Award for Coldplay's "Viva la Vida Tour" in 2008.

Will Jackson states that Stevans is the most promising band he has ever met. The international potential of the group is now becoming obvious, driven by the first single, "Vodka Redgirls", already actively brodcasted on several radios. The video for this song, produced by Brillantine Production, has already been viewed several thousand times on the Internet and gets very positive feedbacks thanks to the original ideas of the two directors.
