Thanks for Checking out my tunes. I've been playing music since I was a kid and it really is something I cant live without. Its a cliche but I try to write about the true nature of life as honestly as I can. I went through a difficult period a couple of years ago getting clean from alcohol addiction. I started writing songs as an outlet for all the feelings and emotions I had to deal with. I had to be truly honest with myself first before I could with anyone else. I'm glad to say I'm still straight and so very happy because of a second chance at life. The content of my music stretches from my experiences of being homeless and sleeping on the streets to the current state of the world. I'm influenced by everything, good and bad. I do most of my writing on the bus where I find inspiration from looking at real people. Music is very much a journey and about the moment so I like to write on the go.
Let me know what you thinkgood or bad.
Peace and God Bless

Steph

"Steph is beginning to bring to reality the innate gifting within him to write and perform some truly original, ear-catching music. Hence the production of this collection of twelve self-penned songs. And what an outstanding output it is! With his totally original rootsy vocals, Macleod has come up with a batch of attention-grabbing tunes in such an eclectic range of styles that any easy classification is rendered futile. While acoustic folk, country, soul and rock all make their presence felt, a bluesy feel underpins the entire set."

"When Steph Macleod sings, "I was broken and couldn't stand on my own two feet" and "I was down and out and living on the streets," he really means it. The 29-year-old from Edinburgh, Scotland, was a homeless alcoholic till he found (in order) God, rehab, sobriety, and songwriting. He had been a classical guitar student at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music before booze got the best (and worst) of him. But now four years sober, he's put together a collection of a dozen songs—both poignant and plaintive—about where he's been, where he is, and where he's going. Great Scot, it's good stuff."
