Steel Toe Solution

It began innocently enough, in a series of casual conversations in which
2 long time punk scene pals, Gerry D & T.D. Sinister, toyed with the idea
of starting a band together. Was it the liquor talking? Was is just a
joke? We may never know. But what we do know is that the cruelest joke of
all was played out on the NJ music scene in 1997 when this idea became
reality and STEEL TOE SOLUTION was formed.
Several years and numerous line up changes later, Mr. D & Mr. Sinister
have remained the two constants in the band from its inception, with
Gerry D finding time to unleash his rage on bass when he's not
de-bugging corporate America, and Sinister finding his anger outlet on
vocals when he's not too busy doing "the ska". Joining them in 1998,
and remaining a constant ever since, Rich Sunyak has been throwing down the wrenches at Chevrolet at the end of the day and throwing down the
brutal beats on drums for STS. In 2006, the departure of guitarist Bern "the B Keeper" Menthe made way for the return of guitarist Bill Hanily (a former STS guitarist, also of Floorpunch infamy), as well as the new addition of Raul Navarro on 2nd guitar to bring back that old STS 5-piece assault.
In 2007, the departure of T.D. Sinister brought about the break up of Steel Toe Solution. They played their final show at Asbury Lanes in Asbury Park, NJ on Friday, July 13th.
STS can still be enjoyed through their recordings, available on Headache Records.
Is it Oi!? Is it Punk? Is it Hardcore? Who the hell knows? It's
music for you to break stuff to, be it bones or bottles, as you release the
stress of your hard week at work.
