John Hartford and his band perform - "Gather Round the TV" live 8-22-98.

This has been one of my favorite songs for many years now. I just adore how John paints the picture of cozy family life centered around one of the greatest and worst inventions of all time! John was well versed in the power of the tv and enjoyed a nice stint as a fixture on the Smuthers Brothers show. Some of those clips can be found on youtube as well. I will always place John as one of the keepers and starters of the flame. Rest in Peace Mr. Hartford.
