Bio:

STANCE PUNKS formed around Tsuru (Vocals) and Kinya (Guitar) in 1998. Tetsushi (Bass) and Kaki (Drums) joined shortly after to form the current lineup.

The band began by doing gigs in and around Shimokitazawa's rooftop. STANCE PUNKS' eccentric lives led them to conduct multiple nation-wide tours and eventually led to the release of their 2001 debut mini-album "STANCE PUNKS". The album debuted at No. 5 on the Oricon Indies Album charts, sparking an immediate boost in their popularity across the country.

A full album of the same title was release the following year, debuting and maintaining the No. 1 six straight weeks on the Oricon Indies chart, also breaking into the overall sales chart at No. 6. The album is widely considered as being one of the key releases in the history of modern Japanese Punk Rock.

In 2005 the band signed with Sony Epic's new label, "Kowalski Records" and released their major debut single "Mony Mony Mony".

Their latest release "I WANNA BE" can currently be heard as the theme song for the new anime SOUL EATER.

The band already proved their importance in the scene and now aims to further refine the music that has made STANCE PUNKS one of the most popular punk-rock groups in the nation. The members now pursue the deeper elements of rock music while maintaining qualities of punk. The reputation and popularity has not changed the four at all - they still remain the hungry, powerful rockers they were in the beginning

We are featured in GOOD CHARLOTTE's new DVD "Fast Future Generation"!! The song "MONY MONY MONY" during our opening act at Zepp Tokyo (2005) can be seen. check it out!!!
