Stacey James

Stacey James, is a female from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. She had a love for music at a very young age. Growing up listening to Motown legends and some of the most amazing creators of soul " The Funk Brothers". She developed a passion and her own flavour for soul. Stacey James began writing at a very young age of 7.After being gifted a trumpet and the self teaching process already in motion on the keyboard.Stacey than moved to accoustic guitar, again she found it brought her music to another level.Which has now grown to tenor sax, bass guitar,violin and more to come.Stacey began singing within the local hip hop scene and performing at various places at age 14. She has been noted for time and time again, for her catchy hooks thanks to her "ear" are written within minutes, nicknaming her "The Hookmaster" by many artists internationally.Looking to explore musically, Stacey joined band "GroovePort". Being able to express herself through another style she became lead vocalist & songwriter for the funk/rock band for 3 years. She then began her search to put together a group of people that were dedicated,creative,and had a love for music the way she did and create the now "Stacey James & The KiK". First member to join on and bring his love, dedication, time and skills was the talented Keith Dzedzora (drums) , after 4 years of working on the kik of the music Keith introduced the extremely talented Clayton Morrissette (guitar)to the project. Bringing his incredible ear,passion and talent to the sound to help take it to the next step, and introducing Jim Jolly (bass) to the mix with 42 years of playing and inspirational creativity bringing the project one step closer.Stacey has many plans for the future with all projects she is currently involved in,being a singer songwriter and composer of nearly all generes, her journey is endless. upcoming cd release coming soon
