SQBASS

Sqbass- a vocalist, guitarist, songwriter



He has been interested in music since early childhood. As a teenager he used to co - write and play the guitar with some local bands playing different kinds of music such as: hard core, nu metal and cross over. At the end of 20 -th century he started to cooperate with d’ n b soundsystem Shamanagurus providing a guitar accompaniament to vinyl records. In 2003 he tried his hand as a Master of Ceremony. A year later his music aroused interest with the leading representative of polish drum and bass scene- Dj Ros ( addiction) who took him to conquer the majority of Polish and foriegn clubs. In the meantime, having got fascinated with sounds of jazz, soul and funk, Sqbass began to cooperate with a talented producer and composer Atanas Valkov. This gave birth to a group named Kosmofonik which played several successful concerts in Poland. In the summer of 2006 he started studying vocal at The Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice . In 2006 he worked with main dnb polish producers- CLS and WAX –and the song entitled ‘’Hurricane’’ was the effect of that cooperation. He also worked with dj Envee and Novika which resulted in recording a single followed by a videoclip. At the beginning of 2007 he started playing live with Smolik.

His vocal style combines soul, jazz, rap, funk, and dnb inspirations. He has played in the majority of well – known Polish clubs as well as foreign ones ( London, Bologna, Les 2 Alpes).

So far he has had a chance to cooperate with the following artists:



KAYAH, FISZ/EMADE, SMOLIK, PINK FREUD, ENVEE, CLS& WAX, NOVIKA, BUNGLE(Brazil) , ADDICTION, MAT KOVALSKY, SOULSERVICE and many others.



He supported:

US 3, GOLDIE, ADAM F, LTJ BUKEM i MC CONRAD, LONDON ELEKTRICITY, LOGISTICS ,MAX SEDGLEY,MARIA PESZEK, COMMIX,ARTIFFICIAL INTELIGENCE, NOOKIE, XRS, CALIBRE & MC DRS, FABIO,SKC,BEN DELLOW, AKI NAWAZ,TONIC & MC SHOCKIN,SOTO and many others.

In 2006 he took part in C.F whose leading stars were Shaggy & Jay-Z.
