Sprockets is an alternative pop rock band currently based in Las Vegas, NV.

The formation of Sprockets took place in Boise, ID when founding members, Brodie Knight Vans (lead vocals, guitar), and “Brave Dave” Schwaller (bass, backing vocals), learned to play their instruments together in the 9th grade. After a few years of playing music and experimenting with band mates they found drummer Dustin Johnson. It was then that Sprockets formed, and the three piece went on to blow up the Boise music scene.

In late 2008 Sprockets took a journey to Monkey Trench studios in Bremerton, WA to record their third album “Medicated Empty.” Mike Herrera, MxPx frontman, worked with Sprockets as the producer for Medicated Empty. He also helped Sprockets hone their skills and style of music. After the experience of recording with Herrera, Sprockets had found a focused direction to take their music. They have stayed in close touch with Herrera, and have shared the stage with him playing shows with MxPx, Tumbledown, and a solo acoustic show. Sprockets are now making plans to record again with Herrera in the near future.

“Medicated Empty” was released on March 13th 2009. By a months time later the band had moved to Brodie's home town of Las Vegas, NV to grow as a band while reaching a larger audience, and to have more opportunities to network with music professionals. While building a fan base in their new home Johnson's musical interests turned towards hip-hop, and in the summer of 2010 Sprockets parted ways with Johnson and welcomed two new members into the band. Matty DeCarlo was the new face behind the drum kit. DeCarlo's previous band, By Deaths Design, had dissolved a year prior and now he was ready for his next project. In addition replacing their drummer, Sprockets decided to add a second guitarist to fill out their sound. Brodie Vans had a friend, Eric Deardorff, whom he thought would be a good fit. Brave Dave and Brodie met up with Deardorff for an acoustic jam session, and knew right away they found their fourth man.

Sprockets is now a four man powerhouse who brings you the same great anomalous music, but now with a towering full sound. Its not an all new sound, but a cultivated sound that only improves on what Sprockets had already created. Brodie's recondite picturesque lyrics present a story for the listener while leaving room to bring the song into their own lives. As Sprockets moves toward a promising future they continue use their music and Brodie's lyrics to reach out to fans by “helping lost kids to find their own.”
