Their music is seen as ground-breaking, with a distinctive flair that could only be produced by the group itself. Comprised of two brothers, their music is sometimes labelled hip-pop! With the quality of their production, and hooks with the strength to rival the commercial world's best. It is amazing how the pair still capture the authenticity of rap/hip-hop/urban music and their credibility is never compromised.
After successfully breaking through into the British Underground scene with the independent release of 'Scuse Me', a setback occurred on the eve of 2007 when Tylie was stabbed twice in the chest. This was a critical event in their lives and career. Initially fearing that this incident would affect the duo's outlook and essentially their music for the worst, many were relieved to find the guys comeback stronger than ever.
The incident had affected them: but for the better!
Not but two-weeks after Tylie was discharged from hospital and a few days after he could walk properly again, SPLURGE performed to a sell-out crowd and had them in tears with their story. Seeing the event as a chance to come back more hungry, more determined and more focused than ever, the guys went back into the studio to record some new material.
