DESCRIPTION:
(Seattle, WA -- Monday, January 27, 2014) -- Hip Hop legends and enthusiasts from around the country will gatherin the Pacific Northwest, as 206 Zulu, Seattle's Hip Hop and community non-profit organization, celebrates its 10thanniversary this coming February 14-16, with an explosive three days of music, art and dance.

The festivities begin on Valentine's Day, Friday, February 14th with music provided by two of the most influential DJs in Hip Hop; the Godfather of Hip Hop Culture and founder of Universal Zulu Nation, Afrika Bambaataa; and Thud Rumble co-founder, 3-time World DMC champion and turntablist icon, DJ Qbert. This kick-off event will also mark the official release of 206 Zulu's compilation album entitled "X". This 18 track project features some of the best in Seattle Hip Hop including H-Bomb, Gabriel Teodros, Central Intelligence, Silver Shadow D, Alpha-P, Orbitron, Specs Wizard and more.

Saturday, February 15th will spotlight some of the region's best b-boys and b-girls in the Zulu Throwdown 3-on-3 crew battle for $1,000 and prizes. World renown judges in attendance include Ken Swift, Asia One and Trac2. Providing breaks are 206 Zulu's own DJs Tecumseh, Gumbeaux and Cues. Hosted by Pele and Free. Performances by Ras Kass, Copywrite and special guests.

Meeting of the Minds will be the closing event on Sunday, February 16th with a community forum featuring special guest speakers, local organizers and community advocates alike. Following the discussion will be a community potluck.

The festivities are all ages and will take place at the historic venue and community space Washington Hall, home of 206 Zulu, Hidmo and Voices Rising.
