Special Touch

Location:
London, UK
Type:
Artist / Band / Musician
Consisting of 5 members, Special Touch have over 80 years of experience in the music industry between them (do the math, but dont dwell on it), with shows on various community radio stations over the years and a diary of bookings even Beckham couldn't keep up with, the boys have always been close to the street.

"One of the main things that keep us in the game is Re-Invention" says J2 1 of 2 mic men on the team "Making sure you change with time is important, some seem frightened of change for fear of loosing fan base, I say adding to what you already have allows your current clientele to grow with you whilst reaching out to new peeps.

WJ Good Groove (Mic man/Selector) has been championing the community air waves with his drive time shows for more than many of us can remember, renowned for his controversial comments (and sometimes actions) Goody knows only too well the importance of moving with the times. "Being left out in the cold isnt nice . So I hear"!!!!

Nigel B (Selector), much to public out cry and 'DJsuarus' rebellion, put down his vinyl in 1992 and donned is his laptop to join the digital DJ age and has never looked back. "The last time I played with vinyl was the begining of 2005 when we had a booking at a club which was not compatible with my PC. Dont get me wrong, I still buy vinyl but the power of so many titles at your finger tips in a club definitely lends to the success of Special Touch, versatility and speed keeps the crowd on their feet, some say its not real DJing everyman do him ting a little way different.

J2 has had many titles in Special Touch. Manager, Selector, PR, Ambassador (A title created just to handle Goodys exploits), but finally (after being forced into the position) settled nicely with Mic Man. "The crowd response is the biggest buzz to be had in this game, and I seem to be high off that every weekend"

Boogie Boy aka Scarlet Pimpernel aka Lord Lucan aka Keyser Soze. He's the underground remix prince of the streets, many of us have rocked to his many mixes in the clubs The faith Evans reggae remix of "love like this", the undisputed blues dance anthem - Intro "Like The First Time" on the Destiny's child "Say My Name" riddim, Boogie's been putting it down way before the ease of MP3's and Mini Discs.

John Junior is the newest edition to the gang but no stranger to the sound business. Originating from the infamous Personal Touch, John (formerly known as Bad Boy Junior) had the East London streets on lock rocking House Parties and halls with a thumping sound system. Known as the pratical joker of the crew John keeps the rest of the gang on their toes.

"The team is strong, it can't be explained only experienced" Goodie
