I play with Daptone Recording artist, Naomi Shelton & The Gospel Queens. Summer shows include; Bonnaroo on Which Stage, and Winnepeg Folk opening for Jeff Tweedy. 2010 shows include the Monterey Jazz Fest, Pop Montreal, Vancouver Folk Fest, Calgary Folk Fest, Edmonton Folk Fest, Chicago's Millennium Park, the Apollo (opening for Sharon Jones), Bowery Ballroom. In 2009, we hit the Nokia (opening for Sharon Jones), Celebrate Brooklyn (opening for Burning Spear), tour of Europe, Ottawa Bluesfest. 2008; WNYC Soundcheck, the 2008 Brooklyn Academy of Music TakeOver, Southpaw, Mercury Lounge.
I also play for the Fred Thomas Band. Fred is the bassist in Naomi's band and is known in his own right as the primary bass player for James Brown fro 1971 and on such recordings as "Hot Pants" "Make it Funky," "Pass The Peas," "Pappa Don't Take No Mess."
Past gigs include the Allstarz James Brown Tribute feat. Charles Bradley, aka Black Velvet at the St. Lucia Jazz Festival 2009, Pierre Kingston at the Harlem International Film Fest Reception Benefit and at the New Leaf Café.
