in 1999 Dee Tox moved to Prague to be resident dj on soultrain in Radost fx club where he continued to present his style of mixing as well as gaining valuable experience along the way. After playing in several venues around Prague, Dee return to Algiers where he djed two events monthly for 2000 people. Giving him time to put his production skills to work and be creative in his studio.

Give Dee Tox ten minutes at a dance club and he can show you the world. The man who built this music has the mix of cultures made famous by "The Stranger:" born in Algeria and raised in Paris. DT has found a home in Prague, where the world comes to play and walk the streets of Kafka's Joseph K. DT's danceable blend of vibrant cultures is a shaking together of the flavorful with a wealth of taste. Truth is, dance music is restricted to repetition in a single time signature. Dee Tox is one of the few capable of surprise in this minimalist art. A xenophobic DJ is like a cow with one udder. It call comes out, but it's awfully tired.
Case in point, "In Your Heart (Funky Dub Mix)" is a soulful mix with a layered danceable groove that sounds like soul from another solar system. Dee's setting of MC Henry D's hip hop takes him into Deep Forest without sinking into the mire of new wave. This blend of Kalimba, urban rap, African guitar, with Spanish language Tom Tom Club choral elements is simple and swirling. There is a sense of surprise in Dee that keeps it simple enough to be fresh. The indistinct blender mixing of a John Hassle is muddy by comparison. Dee is a good cook. Some elements are infused with the flavor of another tribe, but most are folded in without losing their heritage.
Dee Tox is working to complete his first CD after 14 years perfecting a technique and a sound of his own. He has collaborated with a wide variety of artists. At his level of musicianship, the meaning of the music is revealed in his choices. While accepting the restrictive burden of danceable 4/4, his compositions avoid the fallacy of a one-world soup with each element co-existing as a hook in the groove without abandoning the identity of its country of origin.
The music of Dee Tox speaks for itself with the voice and language of many cultures. Algeria is both African and Islamic Paris is culturally rich and disdainful of any dilution of its national character. Prague's history of depth and expansive thought has been subjected to an imposed homogeny of an occupying worldview. This DJ's experience has taught him the tools to collaborate, while avoiding the quicksand of homogenization. In the fight between Dee Tox and the world, this DJ has chosen to back the world.
