Sound System Gravitas

Sound System Gravitas is Nicholas Recio on drums, Anthony Williams on guitar/backup vocals, Malcolm Parrish on bass/backup vocals, and Newton Wahome on lead vocals/melodica. We also have an assortment of additional pieces, including Mina Madani on violin/organ, Donovan Gravlee on rhythm guitar/dub selection and Ledama Tajeu on trumpet. The type of music we're striving for is a conscious roots reggae style that gleans from our shared pasts, ranging from Iran to Kenya to Alabama, and from our community oriented outlook. We feel that our involvement in music is synonymous with societal responsibility to the grass roots, which we hope is reflected in this endeavor.
