Caephilly based four-piece SOUNDSTORM bring an eclectic collection of rock and blues sounds to Nothing In Black And White. In My Genes kicks off with epic guitar riffs and rousing drums, setting a dramatic and energetic tone for tracks such as Not So Sure About Him and Wasp (On The Wall). The Book Of Love has a more reflective edge, with brooding guitar playing and introspective lyrics. Title track Nothing In Black And White is a more subdued, soft-rock affair, but still retains the stylistic elements of other tracks. Overall, the album is powerful, edgy and musically sound with great arrangements and lyrical prowess. SOUNDSTORM don't really offer anything new to the genres in which they place themselves, but this is not to say that what they do produce isn't of a high quality and delivered with passion and dedication. All in all, this is an admirable collection of tracks.
London Cafe: the best of UK indie!
Nothing in Black and White is the debut album from Cardiff's four piece SOUNDSTORM. While listening to the album you can definitely think of the 80s. Inspired by various post-punk, new wave/new romantic bands (Stranglers, Josef K, Duran Duran, New Order…) , they offered creative soundscapes, well-worked melodies and strong riffs. One word to describe this album: Powerful!

SOUNDSTORM, a four-piece rock band from the Caerphilly area of South Wales.
May 2009 saw the release of our debut album, 'Nothing in Black and White'.
Four of the album tracks were produced by top UK producer, Andy Whitmore (Elton John, Eric Clapton, Eternal, Terrence Trent D'Arby, Atomic Kitten.), who contacted the band after hearing tracks on the band's MySpace site.
The album received massive airplay in the UK , USA , Europe, Canada and Australia.
SOUNDSTORM have played numerous festivals over the past few years, including closing the 2009 Cardiff Mardi Gras, and being invited to play the Deptford Festival, London , and 'Caerphilly Big Cheese'
SOUNDSTORM, have also played in such places as 'The Cavern' Liverpool, and, performed in two showcases at 'The Point' Cardiff (2008) - to critical acclaim.
2012/13 sees the band writing new material, plus arranging summer festival dates.
The band performed a live BBC Radio Wales acoustic session for 'The Evening Show', on October 5th 2009, as well as numerous live internet radio interviews and sessions (band members have also been invited to present shows).

SOUNDSTORM continue to write in their own vein of music, refusing to jump on the band wagon that exists in British music, they stick to their working ethic of writing creative progressive pop rock songs. All with the popular theme of the anthemic chorus The music, stretching across eras, generations and genres.
