Speed of Sound combines heavy melodic riffs that ignite dark intricate sounds with powerful rolling bass lines slamming ones stomach into knots. Add to this a drummer whos blazing hand speed and smooth punchy attack leaves one tantalized and you get what we call Speed of Sound.



Houma Rock City gave birth to the band in the spring of 2003.Jake and Cory formed Speed of Sound along with other local musicians who after time parted ways with the band. With the addition of Jon behind the kit the group has come into its own and taken their music to a new level. This talented group of guys have been playing music in the Houma scene for over a decade and have brought their skills together to be more than just a band. Bassist Jakes knowledge of video production leads to expose the showmanship of the band. Providing entertainment that intrigues and humors audiences beyond the music itself. Recording services by guitarist Cory allow the band to capture their music in the comfort his studio. While Jons extensive knowledge in jazz percussion and musical theory strengthens the bands song writing abilities which comes through in the subtle and sometimes overwhelming dynamics of the music. With his quick witted humor and Corys slapstick antics Speed of Sound provides entertainment beyond their live performances using comedy and all forms of media.



To best experience Speed of Sound one must see them live. Their onstage presence and high energy performances can be felt when they take the stage. Along with a good thrashing audiences have grown to appreciate the foolishness displayed by the fat loveable guitarist. The bayous of Terrebonne parish can no longer contain one of Louisianas finest punk rock bands. The only question is, are you prepared to experience Speed of Sound?
