Hey everyone my name is Sophia Maria. I have been singing ever since I could hold a hair brush up to my mouth and sing in it. I was born and raised in las vegas, nv,
and got a taste of the entertainment life at an early age. at 10 I was singing in
many different places and shows on the las vegas strip,at age 12 I trained
classically and performed the lead in an unlv opera, "amahl and the night
visitors." When I hit 13 I was offered a development deal with arista records but due to management changes within the company, we decided to go independent. luckily
everything happens for a reason because thats when I met one of my managers, (who
puts together old school meets new school r&b concerts.) in these concerts I would
perform with some of the most talented and legendary acts, such asEveyln
Champaigne King, Denise Williams, Zapp, Peaches and Herb, Mary-Jane Girls, GQ,
Amanda Perezetcnot only was I a big fan but it was such an amazing learning
experience to watch true talent, true musicians, and meet new friends.
I then recorded and put out a couple cds. my first cd was called, "sophia maria
bump this." my second, "sophia maria at last." my third, "sophia maria oh my
my".soon after “oh my my” album, I had met my boy mc magic at one of the old
school meets new school r&b concerts.where we first got together and recorded
“forget about her,” which hit number one at numerous stations, thanks to the loyal
fans and support from the stations’ djs , mds, and pds. Magic and I recorded a few different tracks, “so good, whatever u want, twisted
game” to name a few, and put out my recent album “ sophia maria’s twisted game”
we also collaborated on a few tracks, such as “only one” which featured on his new
album “magic city part 2.” music has been a rollercoaster ride, taking me from
city to city performing, or in the studio recording new tracks wit the talented
fingazz, where I recorded “u made me this way.” to the 602 wit mc magic finishing
up the new sinlge “boyshorts ft. gemini,” and its uphill from there! Believe it or not, i’ve been through alot at 23, with family, friends, life experiences and music, and feel very blessed to be where I am today and have such a great team by my side. This mexicana/italiana wont stop until she gets to the top.
