Hmmmmmm,this is gonna be tough. O.k. First of all my name. I was born Gerald Raymond Legaspi. I was named Gerald because as my mother told me, St. Gerald was the patron saint of babies born alive. I never researched this myself but I suppose this is correct. She lost a child hours after childbirth, my brother Paul Legaspi. I look forward to meeting him one day in the great blue. When she became pregnant again with me and found out I was a boy, she gave me the name Gerald. Still, while I was inside her, she would talk to me and always say, "hello son!" Everyone would listen to her and talk to me through her belly. As well addressing me as son which turned into Sonny. I dont go by Gerald but like the meaning to which it also holds. I looked it up and found out that it meant "SPEAR MIGHTY or SPEAR RULER." It happened so much that when I escaped her safety, I was instantly called Sonny. This confused me when I went to grade school because the teachers during roll call went down the list and asked for a Gerald Legaspi. Who in the world is that? My mom eventually explained that that was me and why that was me. So here we go. Well, for one, I am my mothers son and and am heir to all the gifts she's been given. Incredible Lady. Beyond. And I have my fathers ruggedness and taste for the ocean, romance and adventure. I love people and cherish my family and friends. Despite my gitano lifestyle I was raised in a world of abundance but @ one point chose a different path for my life. I promised my mom I would go to college and as soon as i was done went on the road to find myself through music. I've travelled up and down California moving from place to place and from job to job, and travelled across the country to go where the music lead me. On the road i found and lost love, watched people I've loved transition into the next life, made life long friendships, honed my craft, watched the sun rise and fall, and lost and found pieces of me along the way. My Journey wow. What a journey. You see, I and you are still on it. And right now your taking a look into mine. Thank you. My purpose in life is to heal others and myself. Through my music I accomplish this, and to those who because of destiny cross paths with me. My goal as a man is to put into lyrics and song, the things most men find hard to say. I am that voice. So what am i like. Like everyone else. In me are hopes and dreams, fears, baggage, questions to what is real and how to love. I am a work in progress. And though i have my fears. I stand in the face of fear. So I guess you can say I'm courageous. Not trying to be arrogant. But I risk everything for what I BELIEVE. And my hope again is that I would find a truer form of truth in me, life, love, purpose, and God ever day. And inspire that to the people around me. So in closing, who is sonny.
