SONIC BOOM SIX are an explosive and outspoken five-piece rock band from Manchester, UK described by Kerrang! as "taking ska, pop, grime, dubstep, punk and metal apart, then rebuilding them as a hyperactive hybrid". With a live show known for "clashing activism and good times", SB6 play firmly for the dance-floor while retaining enough power and aggression to be an active fixture of the UK's rock scene. The Boom's influences include The Specials, The Streets, and Public Enemy and the band signed with Xtra Mile Recordings in early 2012, who will release their self-titled titled album 'Sonic Boom Six' on October 17th 2012.
Having toured the UK, Europe, the US and Japan constantly for the last six years (while also managing to release three albums on their own label Rebel Alliance Recordings) the band took time out in 2011 to write the 'Sonic Boom Six' album and record it with Peter Miles (The King Blues, Futures, We Are The Ocean). The release of the infectious first single 'For The Kids of The Multiculture' gained SB6 a new audience and industry champions, being playlisted on national and regional radio and TV, gaining 'Single Of The Week' on Kerrang! Radio and being chosen as 'Record of The Day' on industry tastemaker site recordoftheday.com. 2011 summer headline slots at Sonisphere and Hevy cemented their standing as one of the UK's great live acts.
After storming shows at HMV's Next Big Thing and Brighton's Great Escape festivals, SB6 spent early 2012 talking to several record labels to find the right partnership for the album's release. SONIC BOOM SIX are proud to announce the release of the superb, perception-challenging, self-titled new album, 'Sonic Boom Six', on their brand new label, Xtra Mile Recordings, on October 15th. The band can also announce a month-long November headline tour, starting on November the 2nd in Nottingham and ending on November 24th in Newport, followed by a headline tour of Europe.
