Extinction
Is love in extinction? Maybe.
When did we stop loving ourselves?
When did we lose our self-worth and everything else in between?
In a world that is so advanced, with so much knowledge and potential, ignorance is still prevalent.
Gluttony became predominant but so did superficial starvation
A dichotomy in itself, how did we get here?
Temperance is no longer the norm, excessiveness is celebrated
We drink too much, we smoke too much.
We pop meds as if they were vitamins, as if it's a way of keeping us alive.
We snort them, we smoke them, and many will even inject them
We lost our path, can we get back?
When did we become such an abusive society?
Mother nature has always been kind but I can't say the same for us.
We use and abuse her, we have definitely taken her for granted
We tear down our natural environment, and we guise it in the name of progress
What progress? Corporate greed?
All of this for money, it sounds absurd to me. It is truly a sad reality.
Respect for life, comes in all forms.
It is one thing to sustain one's self by means of another life
However, it is another thing to kill in vain.
If we must sacrifice another's life, it should be in the purest form
No hormones, no inadequate housing, no abuse.
If we are to reap the rewards of what nature has to offer then it should be respectful.
I don't think we have respect any more, we take things for granted.
Were we not told, do unto others as you would do to yourself?
It seems that this old adage has been forgotten.
I have not forgotten.
I am here to remind those, that although life can be quite cumbersome, it is still a life that should have meaning.
To me I find it quite perplexing, that there are children and people in this world that are in lack of the basic necessities of life – medicine, nutrition, and freedom of expression.
Those in liberal countries take all these privileges as rights.
Did we forget the many men who fought for these rights, to have the choices we have in our lives?
I think in many ways we did.
We are in a land of great abundance and freedom, yet we still abuse our freedoms.
We have children who are prescribed to the fast food nation
Convenience no doubt is a luxury, but at what cost?
We are in an epidemic. What we have known to be safe and good is no longer the standard.
I think we take our choices for granted.
Whatever choice we have, we give it away so easily because it is popular and trendy.
There is no need to dine at a franchise restaurant, when the mom and pop shop is just a block away.
When did we lose sight of what is important?
When did we stop loving ourselves?
That is what it has come down to.
Is it not better to be an informed consumer?
The corporations dupe you.
We do not have to eat at fast food restaurants, we do not have to buy groceries with products that have harmful ingredients or that are harmful to our animals.
It is our choice to research these corporations before we trust them and give them our hard earned dollars.
They truly don't care about you, the individual, your health is the last thing on their minds.
Gaining revenue is their first priority, you are second.
Researching and gaining product knowledge is the choice we want to make.
I ask that you don't let someone else make the choice for you.
There is always a choice in life
Choose not to be ignorant, choose knowledge, choose truth.
Choose to be a voice that should be heard, choose a purpose, choose to love yourself unconditionally.
Choose someone who will unconditionally love you.
Choose not to judge or criticize one another, in the end we are all lovely.
Choose to inspire and compliment one another.
Value your choices the way you value money
and the way you value money is the way you should value LOVE.
Ask yourself, In all of this how can Love survive?
I believe, in the deepest of my heart, that the weight of our world is love!
If only we would wake up every morning and have our minds set on loving and making a better tomorrow.
Unfortunately, we wake up every morning with our minds set on making money.
This is not a path we should choose. We should stop this preponderance.
If we did, our universes' direction would drastically change.
I'm not trying to change the world, I'm just trying to get us to love it!.
But perhaps, love is in extinction!
