Hello! Lenny here. If you'd like to get a hold of us, just send your cyberthoughts to leonard.rutland at gmail.com. Up next . . . Jeff's history of our band--

Part I. Life's Not Gonna Eat Us.

This is just what I heard. I take it to be the truth and so should you: Twas spring of 2004. Lenny finally came out of the closet and confessed to everyone that he played guitar and sang like a saintly beast, and had written some of the finest rock songs since the early nineties, most notably since "Stay" by Lisa Loeb. Rich said,"I will happily lay down wicked riffs to accompany your arrangements,Lenny. Not to mention there is a 7 Seconds song I like to sing my own self." Jacob said,"I will duly play the snare and with pencils to boot. Please to do me the pleasure. I will also share this Pinhead Gunpowder song with you two." Lenny's hair was so long it could be put into ponytail formation. Solid ponytail formation. They went with it. Three to five shows were played all around St. Johns County. Yet they were lacking something. Rhythm perhaps? Volume? Jeff returned from the islands, fresh off the boat, and was approached as to lending low frequencies to this outfit. He wholeheartedly obliged. He learned some songs and slowly these fellows took off their old clothes and put on their rock outfits. Two years, quite a few months, and one head-butt later later,Solid Pony forges on. Maybe things have changed. Perhaps they are louder. Particular hair lengths have been swapped. Surely they write fewer songs than in that first year that was so full of fever and fervor. But the commitment to rock, and everything that rock implies, has not diminished. From St. Augustine to B.F. Missourri to San Pedro to a tree somewhere in California to Fargo to Muenster to somewhere on the side of the road in France, they've been brought together for the better and continue to enrich their own lives, individually and collectively, with the simple process of creating songs.
