.enough of the bollocks, it's high time that someone needs to sort all this shit out once and for all. Too long have we had to put up with sugar-coated pop, emo-moaning farce and guitar bands who don't know where the gain is on the amp. SOLDIER are here to bring top class, crafted tunes back to the real people of this society and give them a reason to feel good after the good old shafting from our politicians and banks. Rising from the heart of the country it has taken us mere months since forming to be recognised as a major player in Birmingham's music scene and are set to take on Manchester after impressive outings in London, Liverpool & Leeds. Our band formed a year ago - belting out songs with instantaneous melodic punch, which are indebted to many and wide-ranging influences and an attitude to back up the power and persona of what we are about. After a false start with a "record label" who was keen to take the money and run, SOLDIER's first release 'Lifeline' gained critical acclaim and airplay paving the way for the new batch of songs which now see SOLDIER stand out from the rest!!

Claire Harvey of Live & Unsigned Festival has described SOLDIER of having ".a unique sound and their lead singer was amazing."

"Soldier look and sound every bit like rock stars. To quote a famous movie "The trick to becoming a rock star is knowing how to act like one" and these boys had confidence, style and the songs to back it up. The frontman had the look of Chris Martin but the swagger and stage demeanor of Liam Gallagher as the bassist stood behind him wearing dark shades. They arrived like rock stars, they played like rock stars and they left like rock stars. These boys are certainly playing their cards right."

"This is a band that have declared war! A heavy bombardment of sound that effortlessly fuses rock, soul and blues. If only they could have played until sunset, the place would have still been rocking and the band still jamming!!"

"Having been around, on and off, for three years, the SOLDIER line up's finally settled down as frontman Scott, guitarist Jon, drummer Ross and former Aquaplane new boys Simon on bass and Paul on guitar and vocals and, last year, got on with the job of building a live reputation, writing songs and working towards a single.
Melding influences that embrace The Verve, Charlatans, Zep, Stone Roses, and, I'd venture a slab of U2, with big guitar chords, anthemic melodies and yearning vocals, they're looking to release Lifeline and Time On My Side in June.
The former's definitely of the early U2 persuasion with blazing guitar riffs, big melody and huge chorus while the latter adopts a more reflective approach with a hint of Kings of Leon alt-country, circling guitar line, ringing solo and a gradually swelling stadium bound melody line custom built for thousand strong swayalongs.

Soldier's big guitar sound is instantly reminiscent of Kings Of Leon. With big guitars, a strong beat and a melodic vocal.
'Lifeline' kicks off with a strong guitar riff, which acts like an early morning wake up call. The verse smoulders and the chorus is suitably impressive. There's not much wrong with this scorching track at all.
This is an altogether excellent track.

Soldier – Lifeline
'Lifeline' is not subtle. It's a direct assault on the eardrums of the hordes of festival goers and stadium audiences that inhabit out fair land (and possibly further afield too). This is anthemic stuff with a football style chant backing vocal that anyone can sing along too (even those at T in the Park who have already drunk their own bodyweight in Tennants then thrown a bottle of the waste product over their fellow audience members). It's impossible not to admire this level of energy and power. Does sounds like Shed Seven at the chorus though. 7/10
