BoNo MUST DIE's Gypsy March

Like her literary sister Esmerelda, Carmen was the creation of a man who never met an actual Gypsy in his life; yet more than any other figure originating in a work of fiction, she has everywhere come to represent the quintessential Romani woman in the popular mind. Despite this, her deportment in the libretto is as remote from actual Romani behavior as it is possible to be; clearly she is fulfilling a literary role that has been firmly in place for a very long time.



At least one member of BoNo Must Die is a gypsy. He or she is going to force the others to join his gypsy marching band and they will rape and pillage for eternity.
