A few things about me… I'm a Swedish singer/songwriter. At 18 I moved to Paris. While in France I recorded my first demo that led to a Record Deal back in Sweden and my debut album 'One' was released. We did well and it was a fun journey…
I moved to London to develop as a songwriter… London brought me to New York where I wrote and recorded my second album 'Fighting Gravity'. I stayed in New York and tried getting a new deal. I kept hitting walls and decided to go back home where I had an offer from a Swedish label.
Just as I had moved everything back home again I got an offer to do a reality show in LA based upon a Swedish singer/songwriter trying to make it in America…
I went for it! But soon enough I realized it was not for me. Luckily all episodes in life that might look bad always bring something good too. I was in a sunny LA in the middle of the cold Swedish winter and I decided to stay.
And eventually, instead of being in any of MTV's reality shows I ended up placing my songs on them. Actually almost everything I had written got placed and things started to look a little brighter again…
Normally good things come with more good things (unfortunately it works the other way around too) and I finally got my first offer from Atlantic Records and signed with them in the spring of 2009.
Since my signing I've been keeping busy writing with some of the most amazing writers all around the world, some of the songs you might have heard on 90201, Melrose Place, Entourage, The Hills etc. but nothing from these sessions has been released yet. Except for "Heartbling" that I wrote with my friend Chad Wolf from Carolina Liar.
My impatience and Atlantic's anticipation led to our split in Feb 2011.
It was very educating and a dream come true to be able to work with them and I feel very grateful. Right now I'm just eager to get my music out and play live! So hopefully I will find a new home for my album shortly.
After all this, I still think America is a land of opportunity and where dreams can come true… Not that they can't elsewhere too, but there is something to be said about the enthusiasm and encouragement you get here. You just have to give it some time sometimes, which for me is the hardest thing. I'm working on that!
Thanks for checking in and reading this.
Much Love to all of you and I appreciate your support in my music and me oh so much!!!
