MAHAKALA

MAHAKALA are consisted of JB (bass, vocals, also in TASTE OF GRIEF, THE GREAT BLACK, BLACK OCEAN, ex-SCUMS37), Big Badda (guitars, backing vocals, also in THE GREAT BLACK, ex-HEAVIERTHANGOD), Panozk (guitars) and Aris_h (drums, ex-THE VOLDERA CULT).



On 2005 the quartet records its debut, self titled EP (with Smirnoff on vocals and Costas on drums) and later on, releases it on Spanish indie label Parade Records. This first piece, limited to 1000 copies and mainly influenced by old school punk, early heavy rock and the 90’s stoner/sludge rock movement, receives an extremely positive response by all crowds and the worldwide press, giving the band one more reason to move on.



Sharing the stage with GRAND MAGUS (SWE), TAINT (UK), OBSCURA (GER), SEPTIC FLESH (GR), SABBAH NAVAHTHANI (CYP) and DARKFALL (AUS) amongst others MAHAKALA gained the likes of all audiences for their loud and energetic performances.



2007, with the presence of Alex Kid (also in VOIDWALKER, ex-SCUMS37) on lead vocals and JB handling some secondary ones, finds the quartet’s sound turning into a SABBATH-ically groovy sludge ’n’ roll hybrid, combined with classic rock dopes, elements of modern extreme sound and minimal doomy riffage while enriched with a chaotic vocal duet.



After a dozen of killer shows, the band splits up due to personal arguments.



On 2009, the dead are walking the earth again. With JB on lead vocal duties this time, MAHAKALA redefine the stoner rock term with an ultra-Sabbathic trash rock assault, doing what they should be doing a long time now.
